Cuisine at our core

Rikki started cooking early and was creating her own inventive recipes by the time she was 10 years old. An early fascination with not only food, but with other countries and cultures led her on a lifelong search for a career combining cooking with travel. She studied everything from knife skills and mother sauces to cooking for special diets and international cuisine during culinary school in Berkeley, California. Her subsequent restaurant jobs stoked her passion for food, but left much to be desired in terms of travel. Eventually her combination of interests led her to host travel and cooking shows, allowing her to be immersed in the culinary traditions of Turkey, past and present. Today, you can find her getting lost in farmers markets, planting centuries-old heirloom vegetables, splitting hairs over finding the perfect plate, and turning any dinner into a multi-faceted culinary experience combining history, culture, and nature.
